Project Description

In order to provide academics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with domestic and international academic exchanges, the Chinese Academy of Sciences began to build an academic hall (academician center) where academicians will hold meetings, conduct exchanges, hold scientific and technological frontier forums, and publish scientific and technological achievements.

The academic hall of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is located in the core area of ​​Zhongguancun. The building is of the Renaissance architectural style. The three-stage layout is obvious. The columns, provocations and arches are strong, and the three-dimensional space is strong, and the style is elegant and stable. The building material is mainly made of light marble finishes, and the building surface of the hall is 6980m2.

The special feature of academic hall lighting is not the unconventional concept, nor the frontier technical application, but the lighting brings people a lot of thinking and thinking about an attitude towards life. For the designer, perhaps he is willing to create gorgeous lighting to express his own creativity, to reflect his value with the expensive cost of the project, and rarely to objectively think about the real needs of the building.

(1) The brightness is appropriate, the hierarchy is distinct, simple and pragmatic, and the cultural connotation of the building is fully reflected by the light.

The project uses a simple and introverted lighting technique to interpret an elegant lighting atmosphere, guiding people to think about the masters of academic halls---the style of academicians and scholars, and to think about the scientific spirit of being pragmatic, truth-seeking, and not ostentatious. Cheap investment does not mean cheap design. Behind the brilliance, it may be empty and boring, and it is difficult to last. It is the value we admire to be able to maintain a plain heart, to think independently and to uphold our own beliefs.

(2) Energy saving

In public buildings of the same size, there are not a few that cost millions of dollars. The total investment of lighting projects in this project is less than 400,000. Controlling the number of lamps, saving cost and reducing replacement is one of the goals of this design pursuit. Although the design is simple but not simple, it seeks the overall balance from effects, ideas, investment and maintenance. On the basis of the guarantee effect, try to optimize the amount of unnecessary lamps, avoid excessive lighting and energy consumption, and reduce the workload of frequent maintenance caused by future lamp damage, in order to save initial investment and maintenance costs.

(3) Conceal the lamps as much as possible to ensure that the building's daytime appearance is not destroyed.

The design fully considers the installation details of the luminaire, and all the luminaires are hidden, and the viewer will not see any exposed luminaires on the facade of the European classical style building.

(4) to achieve no glare, truly improve the quality of viewing

Reducing glare is an important issue. The project team has repeatedly tried to control the projection direction and angle so that the building will not be glare when observed in all directions.

Therefore, to ensure the dual combination of lighting quality and economy, moderate and rational lighting design and construction, thinking is the core value of this project.
