General Electric (GE) Chairman Jeff Immelt announced today in Beijing that it will donate a second batch of equipment, including portable water treatment equipment, medical and lighting products, to the earthquake-stricken areas of China, with a total value of 10 million yuan. So far, GE's total donation to the disaster-affected areas in Sichuan Province has exceeded 30 million yuan.

GE's two batches of equipment donated to the Sichuan disaster area include: portable ultrafiltration water purification system equipment, rescue lighting equipment, and ECG monitors, black and white ultrasound equipment, anesthesia machines, ventilators, exquisite X-ray machines, etc. Provide medical treatment, clean drinking water and rescue lighting.

Within two days after the Wenchuan earthquake in China, GE donated 10 million yuan in cash and 5 million yuan worth of equipment to the disaster area. At the same time, more than 7,000 employees in GE Greater China have raised more than 6.2 million yuan in disaster relief for the Chinese Red Cross through personal donations and the same amount of pledges from the GE Foundation.
