According to the cooperation agreement reached between Liyin Company and Wuhu High-tech Zone Management Committee in February, Liyin plans to invest 6 billion yuan in 5 years, introduce more than 100 MOCVD equipment and supporting production lines, and mass-produce GaN high brightness. Blue-green LED. The first phase of the project will invest 680 million yuan and 12 MOCVD will be introduced within one year.
According to Gaogong LED reporter, Liyin Company has been established for 30 years and has rich experience in LED epitaxial technology. In 2010, it became a strategic partner with TOP Engineering Group, a Korean listed company. As the second largest equipment manufacturer in Korea, TOP Engineering Group mainly produces liquid crystal display equipment, OLED production equipment and semiconductor equipment.
Prior to this, TOP Engineering had already been deployed in China.
On April 17, TOP Engineering invested 30 million US dollars in Yangzhou to build a battery module base, mainly producing batteries for mobile phones and computers. The second phase of the project will be the production of semiconductor equipment, which is expected to achieve an annual sales of 150 million US dollars after the project is put into production.
An industry insider who asked not to be named told reporters that Liyin was the first agent of TOP Engineering in Taiwan. Liyin Company originally thought of Guangdong Jiangmen investment, but it may be because it did not get the relevant preferential policies, and now it went to Wuhu.
In view of this agency relationship, the industry insider analyzed, "If Liyin wants to make epitaxial films in Wuhu, it will definitely use TOP Engineering equipment." He also believes that "the epitaxial film project in Wuhu may be a blind man," It is not allowed to sell MOCVD equipment of TOP Engineering."
However, for TOP Engineering's equipment, the above-mentioned industry believes that "MOCVD equipment sold in Korea on the mainland should have no customers, and TOP Engineering has not sold a MOCVD equipment in Korea."
