Vishay launches new ultra-fast diodes Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the release of 11 new Gen2 650V FRED Pt® ultrafast diodes. The "H" series of die devices are suitable for applications with frequencies above 40kHz, with extremely fast and soft recovery times, as well as low forward and reverse peak currents, which can reduce solar inverters, UPS, electric vehicles and Switching losses in hybrid cars, welders, servers, and continuous conduction mode power factor correction (CCM PFC). The "U" series designed to meet the needs of users can be used for applications up to 40kHz, with a much lower forward voltage drop and optimized conduction losses.

Recently released Vishay ultrafast diodes have a rated current of 2A to 150A. The device's high isolation voltage allows designers to provide additional safety margins and increase power density in the final product. Vishay can provide equivalent packaged devices based on user requirements.

To maximize efficiency, diodes provide a wide range of forward voltage and reverse recovery time ratios. At +25°C (di/dt=200A/μs), the device's typical reverse recovery time is only 28ns and the typical forward voltage is as low as 1.38V. In order to achieve a more robust and cost-effective design, the diode's maximum operating junction temperature can reach +175°C.
