CSA Standards, the CSA Group's standard development organization, has released a new C22.2 No. 1993-09 self-ballasted lamp and luminaire adapter standard for the main spiral lamps and energy-saving lamps.

With the entry into force of this new standard, CSA International's sister organization, CSA International, provides China's lighting manufacturers with testing and certification services to facilitate the smooth export of compact fluorescent products to the North American market.

CSA Standards, CSA International, and OnSpeX, which provides consumer goods assessment, inspection and consulting services to retailers and manufacturers, are all branches of the CSA Group. As a leading organization, CSA Group has been focusing on developing new standards for health, safety and sustainability for the past 90 years, providing testing and certification services to a wide range of industries, and providing consumer goods assessments for retailers and manufacturers. Inspection and consulting services.

The C22.2 No. 1993-09 self-ballasted lamp and luminaire adapter standard was released in October 2009 and is consistent with the US (UL1993) and Mexico (NMX-J-578/1-ANCE) standards to ensure compact fluorescent lamps and Other similar luminaires are sold in the North American market to meet safety standards.

The standard covers requirements for types of lamps such as fluorescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, high-intensity discharge lamps, LEDs, and tungsten halogen lamps. The new requirements include a new plastic case with the lowest material specifications and several additional end-of-life tests that more realistically simulate the product's failure probability.

Self-ballasted luminaires, such as compact fluorescent tube luminaires, typically have a built-in spiral filament at the bottom for controlling startup and operating current. Although the lifespan of compact fluorescent tube lamps is longer than that of incandescent bulbs, there is still a problem of end-of-life, that is, fluorescent tube lamps have entered the end of the life cycle, but before the burnout. Some of the early compact fluorescent products had occasional heat generation at the end of their life, which caused the lamps to emit smoke or the base of the lamps to fade and deform.

As people's awareness of reducing energy consumption continues to increase, such as the efficient use of lighting power by homes and businesses, CSA Group continues to provide multiple environmental solutions through its three branches, covering benchmarks, greenhouse gas registration And training and consulting services in environmental performance testing and product certification.

Fuse, also known as current fuse, is defined by the IEC127 standard as "fuse-link."It mainly ACTS as overload protection. When the fuse is properly placed in the circuit, the fuse will fuse itself and cut off the current when the current rises to a certain height and heat, thus protecting the safe operation of the circuit.
