The DS1877 is an SFP controller that allows for the configuration of alarms, alarms, lookup table LUTs, etc. in a variety of ways. This customization requires a large register. This article describes the register table to aid in device configuration.

DS1877 register

The master device address is A2h for global variable configuration and transmitter 1 control, calibration, alarm, warning, and monitoring; address B2h is used to control transmitter 2.

Low-end memory, A2h address range: 00h to 7Fh. Includes alarm and warning thresholds, flag bits, templates, control registers, password entry area (PWE), and table selection bytes.

Tables 01h and A2h mainly include user EEPROM (including PW1 level access) and alarm and warning enable.

Table 02h, A2h/B2h are multi-function areas, including control registers, gain and bias settings, passwords, interrupt registers, and various control bytes. All functions and status can be read and written by A2h or B2h address.

Tables 04h, A2h contain a temperature-based lookup table (LUT) for controlling the MOD1 voltage. The MOD1 LUT is set in a temperature range of 40 ° C to +102 ° C in steps of 2 ° C.

The default status of Table 05h and A2h is empty. It is used to configure alarm and warning enable bits (Table 01h, register F8h-FFh) and MASK bit enable (Table 02h, Register 89h). In this case, the table 01h is empty.

Tables 06h, A2h contain a temperature-based lookup table (LUT) that controls the voltage of APC1. The APC1 LUT is set in a temperature range of 40 ° C to +102 ° C in steps of 2 ° C.

The master device at B2h is used for transmitter 2 control, calibration, alarm, warning and monitoring.

Low-end memory, B2h address range: 00h to 7Fh, including alarm and warning thresholds, flag bits, mask bits and several control registers, password input area (PWE) and table selection bytes.

Tables 01h and B2h include alarm and warning enable bits.

Tables 04h, B2h contain a temperature-based lookup table (LUT) that controls the voltage of MOD2. The MOD2 LUT is set in a temperature range of 40 ° C to +102 ° C in steps of 2 ° C.

The default status of Table 05h and B2h is empty. It is used to configure alarm and warning enable bits (Table 01h, register F8h-FFh) and MASK bit enable (02h, register 89h). In this case, the table 01h is empty.

Tables 06h, B2h contain a temperature-based lookup table (LUT) for controlling the voltage of APC2. The APC2 LUT is set in a temperature range of 40 ° C to +102 ° C in steps of 2 ° C.

The auxiliary memory (device address A0h) contains 256 bytes of EEPROM with an address range of 00h to FFh. Selected by device address A0h.

The following table provides a more detailed description of each bit's functionality and read/write permissions.

EEPROM mapping

Many nonvolatile memories are actually part of the EEPROM map (listed in the register index) and are controlled by the SEEB bit of Table 02h, Register 80h.

The DS1877 provides EEPROM mapping for critical memory (possibly for multiple writes). The EEPROM mapped control bits are SEEB, with a default setting of zero, at which point these locations appear as regular EEPROMs. When SEEB is asserted, these memory cells function like SRAM, allowing an unlimited number of writes without damage. This feature eliminates the EEPROM write time tWR. Data changes under SEEB enable conditions do not affect the EEPROM and are not retained until the next power-up cycle. The value after power-on is the last value written to the EEPROM in the previous SEEB reset state. This feature limits the number of EEPROM operations during calibration or reduces the number of EEPROM writes when changing the monitor threshold voltage. A description of the memory shows which cells provide EEPROM mapping.

Car Cable Harness, also known as a wire harness, cable assembly, wiring assembly or wiring loom, is an assembly of electrical cables or wires which transmit signals or electrical power. The cables are bound together by connector, terminal, cable ties, sleeves, electrical tape, conduit, PVC tube, corrugate tube, string, or a combination thereof.

Commonly used in automobiles, as well as construction machinery, cable harnesses provide several advantages over loose wires and cables. For example, many aircraft, automobiles and spacecraft contain many masses of wires which would stretch over several kilometres if fully extended. By binding the many wires and cables into a cable harness, the wires and cables can be better secured against the adverse effects of vibrations, abrasions, and moisture.
