Displaytech has expanded its 128×64 COG (Chip on Glass) series of LCD display products with three different sizes of white LEDs and RGB backlights. The visible areas of these COG displays are 50 x 25 mm, 70 x 40 mm, and 60.6 x 33.1 mm, respectively. The dot size is 0.33 x 0.33 mm to 0.48 x 0.48 mm. The company also offers five different modules that incorporate white LED backlighting. The backlighting voltage is 2.3V to 3.5V and the typical current value is 20mA to 80mA, making these products especially suitable for mobile devices. Displaytech also offers RGB backlighting products that allow users to switch backlights to red, green or blue, or any combination of these colors to support up to seven backlight colors. At 1,000 units in volume, these COG displays are priced at a minimum of $5.50, while the white LED backlighting COG display has a minimum price of $7.75 (for reference only).
